Feeling Lost
It wasn’t all that long ago that I felt completely lost in my business.
I started my first business in 2021 when my maternity leave was coming to an end. During my pregnancy, I had been diagnosed with Hashimoto’s– an autoimmune condition affecting the thyroid– and went down the rabbit hole of trying to manage my health through diet and lifestyle.
As a 1/3 profile in Human Design, I love to learn new things. Being the lifelong learner that I am, I decided to get certified as an Autoimmune Health Coach. I wanted to take what I had come to understand about healing from chronic health conditions and share it with the world.
For a while, everything felt great. I was creating educational YouTube videos, attending networking events, and speaking at summits. I thought I had found my thing and that I would become a leader in the autoimmune health coaching space.
But something wasn’t working, and I couldn’t figure out why.
My business wasn’t growing at the rate I wanted, despite my willingness to learn and invest in tools, programs, and mentorship.
Showing up in the health coaching space started to feel heavy. I no longer wanted to create content in my niche or introduce myself as a “health coach” at networking events.
When I listened to my peers talk about their work, they sounded a hell of a lot more excited than I did.
I knew I wanted a change, but I felt completely disoriented.

The Pivot
During that confusing time, I heard Kathrin Zenkina (Manifestation Babe) speak on a podcast.
She directed listeners to a quiz on her website to determine their manifestation style, and of course, I had to try it.
While taking the quiz, one of my answers surprised me.
The question listed five personal development experts and asked which one best represented you.
To my surprise, I selected: Gabby Bernstein, Spiritual Teacher.
A spiritual teacher? Me? Couldn’t be.
Fast-forward a couple of months, and I’m listening to another podcast (yes, I’m a podcast junkie– I’m a 1/3, remember?!). In this episode, I hear the host talk about The Gene Keys. It’s my first time hearing the term, and I had to rewind a few times to catch what she was saying.
Once I realized it was an astrology-based chart, I immediately looked mine up.
Little did I know, this was the beginning of a major pivot for me.
Not only did the Gene Keys help me clarify my business direction and niche, but I also went on to become a Gene Keys Guide, and they became a major part of the work I do with my clients.
